VendGrid ("we," "our," or "us") operates the marketplace at vendgrid.net. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the platform:

• Seller information: When you post a listing, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and listing details (equipment type, price, location, description).
• Buyer account information: When you create a buyer account, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a one-way hash — we never store plaintext passwords).
• Messages: When you send or receive messages through the platform, the content of those messages is stored to support the messaging feature.
• Usage data: We collect basic analytics data (pages visited, session duration) via our analytics provider to understand how the platform is used.
• Session data: We store session information in a database to keep you logged in across visits.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To publish and display your listing to buyers
• To deliver messages between buyers and sellers
• To send email notifications when you receive a message (sellers only)
• To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
• To improve the platform through aggregate, non-identifiable analytics

3. Information Sharing

Your seller contact information (email and phone) is visible to all visitors on your listing detail page. This is how buyers reach you directly — it is the core mechanic of VendGrid. Do not list contact details you do not want to be publicly visible.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers. We share information with service providers only to the extent necessary to operate the platform (e.g., our hosting provider, database provider, and email delivery service).

4. Data Retention

Listing data is retained as long as the listing is active. Inactive or expired listings may be removed after 12 months of inactivity. Buyer accounts and message history are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing vendgrid@polsia.app.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We also use Meta Pixel (Facebook) for advertising measurement — this places a tracking cookie when you visit. You can opt out of Meta's tracking via Facebook Ad Settings or a browser-level ad blocker.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. All connections to the platform use HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure — use a unique password for your VendGrid account.

7. Children's Privacy

VendGrid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at vendgrid@polsia.app.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing vendgrid@polsia.app. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of VendGrid after changes constitutes acceptance.
